Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Building and an Associate of the Building Surveyors Institute of the U.K.
Trained and qualified in the U.K. as a quantity and building surveyor. Specialized in estimating working for international companies both civil and building. Progressing on to construction management working in Papua New Guinea, Northern Solomon’s, Samoa and Europe.
An academic with Wellington Polytechnic teaching construction related subjects then later Massey University as a senior lecturer specializing in the environmental health BSc degree and the built environment.
Research projects included: Asbestos in the built environment for the Wellington City Council.
Managed Porirua City Council Building Compliance department and later part time as their Enforcement Advisor, Environment and Regulatory Services.
Negotiations are taking place for us to undertake part of the national 650 house surveys for the Building Research Association of New Zealand.
Project Managers for the Mary Potter Hospice kitchen refurbishment and decks 2010.
Undertaking environmental examination and report for Wakefield Hospital.
Property and section evaluations for various clients through Ford Sumner Lawyers and also for Oakley, Moran Lawyers. Expert witness in matters of weather tightness and all construction matters.
Feasibility study undertaken, including Architectural concept design for new trades buildings at Whitireia Polytechnic Porirua City.
Appointed as the independent investigative researcher for the Energy Efficient Conservation Authority on the Warm Up New Zealand Heat Smart programme. Paper and findings submitted April 2010
Currently a Director of construction industry consultants: Buildsure Ltd.
